4 Не отвечай глупому сообразно глупости его, чтоб и тебе не сделаться подобным ему.

5 Отвечай глупому, смотря по глупости его, чтоб он для глаз своих мудрецом не показался.

6 Безногий горести пьет, также кто поручает дела глупому.

7 Хромой, поднявший ноги и плящущий, - это глупый с притчею на устах.

8 Как бы бросил кто горсть драгоценных камней в груду каменную, так поступает тот, кто глупому отдает честь.

9 В руке пьяного оказалась терновая игла, а в устах глупого - притча.

10 Могучий, который всех приводит в трепет, и глупого нанимает, и преступников нанимает.

11 Как пес возвращается на блевотину свою, так глупый любит повторять глупость свою.

12 Увидишь человека, который для глаз своих кажется мудрецом; от глупого более надежды, нежели от него.

14 Дверь ворочается на крюках своих, а ленивец на постели своей.

17 Пса за уши хватает, кто, проходя мимо, разгорячается, вмешиваясь не в свое дело.

18 Как забавляющийся кидает копья, стрелы и смерть,

19 Так человек, который обманул друга своего, и говорит: `я пошутил; не правда ли?`

20 Без дров погаснет огонь, а без ябедника утихнет раздор.

21 Холодный уголь - для жару и дрова - для огня; а человек сварливый для того, чтобы зажечь ссору.

22 Слова ябедника как лакомства; и они сходят в глубину чрева.

23 Серебром с примесью покрытый сосуд глиняный - это уста пламенные, а сердце злобное.

24 Ненавидящий тебя является совсем иным на устах своих, и коварство держит внутри себя.

25 Хотя он нежным говорит голосом, не верь ему, потому что в сердце его семь мерзостей.
