1 Дирижёру хора. На мотив «Лилия свидетельства». Мольба Давуда. Для наставления.

2 Написано, когда Давуд воевал с сирийцами из Месопотамии и сирийцами из Цовы, . и когда Иоав, вернувшись, сразил двенадцать тысяч эдомитян в Соляной долине.

3 Ты отверг нас, Всевышний, и сокрушил; Ты был в гневе – вернись к нам снова!

4 Ты заставил землю дрожать и расколол её; исцели её раны – она содрогается.

5 Ты послал Своему народу безотрадные времена; Ты напоил нас вином, от которого нас шатает.

6 Но для тех, кто Тебя боится, поднял Ты знамя,чтобы они, собравшись к нему, стали для лука недосягаемы. . Пауза

7 Сохрани нас Своей правой рукой и ответь нам, . чтобы спаслись возлюбленные Тобой.

8 Всевышний обещал в Своём святилище: «Я разделю, торжествуя, город Шехем и долину Суккот размерю для Своего народа.

9 Мой Галаад и Мой Манасса, Ефраим – Мой шлем, Иуда – Мой скипетр.

10 Моав служит Мне умывальной чашей для ног, Я предъявлю Свои права на Эдом, над землёй филистимлян торжествующе воскликну».

11 Кто приведёт меня в укреплённый город? Кто доведёт меня до Эдома?

12 Не Ты ли, Всевышний, Который нас отринул и теперь не выходишь с войсками нашими?

13 Окажи нам помощь в борьбе с врагом, потому что людская помощь бесполезна.

14 Со Всевышним мы одержим победу; Он низвергнет наших врагов.

Psalm 59

1 DELIVER me from mine enemies, O God; defend me from them that rise up against me.

2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

3 For, 1o, they lie in wait for my soul; evil have they multiplied against me; not because I have transgressed or because I have sinned, O LORD.

4 They run and prepare themselves against me without considering whether I have been at fault;

5 Awake to help me, and behold, O thou LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the nations, and spare not any wicked transgressors.

6 They return at evening; they make a noise like dogs, and go round about the city.

7 Behold, they belch out with their mouths; swords are in their lips; for who, say they, does care?

8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the nations in derision.

9 To thee shall I give praise, O God, for thou art my defense.

10 O God, thy lovingkindness has preceded me; God has let me live to see my enemies avenged.

11 Spare them for a living example, lest my people forget; but scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O LORD my hope.

12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips. let them even be taken in their pride; for it is cursing and lying that they speak.

13 Consume them in thy wrath, consume them, that they be no more, that they may know that God rules over Jacob and over the ends of the earth.

14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like dogs, and go round about the city.
