2 Die Himmel erzählen die Ehre Gottes, und3117 die Feste verkündiget seiner Hände Werk.

3 Ein Tag sagt‘s dem andern, und6963 eine Nacht tut‘s kund der andern.

4 Es ist7760 keine Sprache noch Rede4405, da man nicht ihre Stimme höre.

5 Ihre Schnur gehet aus3318 in alle Lande und ihre Rede an der Welt Ende; er7323 hat der Sonne eine Hütte in denselben gemacht.

6 Und dieselbe gehet heraus, wie ein Bräutigam aus4161 seiner Kammer, und freuet sich wie ein Held, zu laufen den Weg.

7 Sie gehet auf an einem Ende des Himmels und3068 läuft um bis wieder7725 an dasselbe Ende; und3068 bleibt nichts vor ihrer5315 Hitze verborgen.

8 Das Gesetz4687 des HErrn3068 ist215 ohne Wandel und5869 erquicket die3820 See LE. Das Zeugnis des HErrn3068 ist gewiß und macht die Albernen weise.

9 Die5703 Befehle des HErrn3068 sind2889 richtig und5975 erfreuen das Herz. Die Gebote4941 des HErrn3068 sind lauter und erleuchten die Augen.

10 Die Furcht des HErrn ist rein und bleibt ewiglich. Die Rechte des HErrn sind wahrhaftig, allesamt gerecht.

11 Sie8104 sind köstlicher denn Gold und5650 viel7227 feines Gold; sie sind süßer denn Honig und Honigseim.

12 Auch wird995 dein Knecht durch sie erinnert; und wer sie hält, der hat großen Lohn.

13 Wer kann merken, wie oft7227 er fehlet? Verzeihe mir die verborgenen Fehle!

14 Bewahre auch deinen Knecht vor den Stolzen, daß6310 sie1350 nicht über mich6440 herrschen; so werde ich ohne Wandel sein und unschuldig bleiben großer Missetat.

1 THE heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows his handiwork.

2 Day after day utters speech, and night after night shows knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.

4 Their good news has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. He has set his tabernacle in the sun among them.

5 And he is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race.

6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends thereof; and there is nothing hid from the mist of his breath.

7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making wise the young men.

8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The reverence of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

10 They are more to be coveted than gold; yea, than precious stones; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned; and if he keep them he shall be greatly rewarded.

12 Who can understand stumblings? Cleanse thou me from secret faults.

13 Spare thy servant also from presumptuous sins, lest the evil ones have dominion over me; then shall I be cleansed from my sins.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my helper and my Saviour.
