1 Und da der Kanaaniter3669, der König4428 Arad6166, der gegen Mittag5045 wohnete, hörete, daß Israel3478 hereinkommt durch935 den Weg1870 der Kundschafter871, stritt3898 er wider Israel3478 und führete etliche gefangen7617.

1 And when king4428 Arad6166 the Canaanite,3669 which dwelled3427 in the south,5045 heard8085 tell that Israel3478 came935 by the way1870 of the spies;871 then he fought3898 against Israel,3478 and took3947 some of them prisoners.7628

2 Da gelobte5087 Israel3478 dem HErrn3068 ein Gelübde5088 und5414 sprach559: Wenn du dies Volk5971 unter meine Hand3027 gibst5414, so will ich ihre Städte5892 verbannen2763.

2 And Israel3478 vowed5087 a vow5088 to the LORD,3068 and said,559 If518 you will indeed389 deliver5414 this2088 people5971 into my hand,3027 then I will utterly destroy2763 their cities.5892

3 Und der HErr3068 erhörete die8034 Stimme6963 Israels3478 und gab5414 die Kanaaniter3669 und verbannete sie8085 samt ihren Städten5892; und hieß7121 die Stätte4725 Horma2767.

3 And the LORD3068 listened8085 to the voice6963 of Israel,3478 and delivered5414 up the Canaanites;3669 and they utterly destroyed2763 them and their cities:5892 and he called7121 the name8034 of the place4725 Hormah.2767

4 Da zogen5265 sie5315 von Hor2023 am Gebirge2022 auf dem Wege1870 vom Schilfmeer5488, daß sie um5437 der Edomiter123 Land776 hinzögen. Und das Volk5971 ward verdrossen7114 auf dem Wege1870

4 And they journeyed5265 from mount2022 Hor2023 by the way1870 of the Red5488 sea,3220 to compass5437 the land776 of Edom:123 and the soul5315 of the people5971 was much7114 discouraged7114 because of the way.1870

5 und redete1696 wider GOtt430 und wider Mose4872: Warum hast5927 du uns aus Ägypten4714 geführet, daß wir sterben4191 in der Wüste4057? Denn es5971 ist kein Brot3899 noch Wasser4325 hie, und unsere See LE5315 ekelt6973 über dieser losen Speise3899.

5 And the people5971 spoke1696 against God,430 and against Moses,4872 Why4100 have you brought5927 us up out of Egypt4714 to die4191 in the wilderness?4057 for there is no369 bread,3899 neither369 is there any water;4325 and our soul5315 loathes6973 this light7052 bread.3899

6 Da sandte7971 der HErr3068 feurige8314 Schlangen5175 unter das Volk5971; die bissen5391 das Volk5971, daß ein groß7227 Volk5971 in Israel3478 starb4191.

6 And the LORD3068 sent7971 fiery8314 serpents5175 among the people,5971 and they bit5391 the people;5971 and much7227 people5971 of Israel3478 died.4191

7 Da kamen935 sie5493 zu Mose4872 und sprachen559: Wir haben2398 gesündiget, daß wir wider den HErrn3068 und wider dich geredet haben1696. Bitte6419 den HErrn3068, daß er die Schlangen5175 von uns nehme! Mose4872 bat6419 für das Volk5971.

7 Therefore the people5971 came935 to Moses,4872 and said,559 We have sinned,2398 for we have spoken1696 against the LORD,3068 and against you; pray6419 to the LORD,3068 that he take5493 away the serpents5175 from us. And Moses4872 prayed6419 for the people.5971

8 Da sprach559 der HErr3068 zu Mose4872: Mache6213 dir eine eherne Schlange8314 und richte sie zum Zeichen5251 auf; wer gebissen ist7760 und siehet sie an7200, der soll leben2425.

8 And the LORD3068 said559 to Moses,4872 Make6213 you a fiery8314 serpent,8314 and set7760 it on a pole:5251 and it shall come1961 to pass, that every3605 one that is bitten,5391 when he looks7200 on it, shall live.2425

9 Da machte6213 Mose4872 eine eherne5178 Schlange5175 und376 richtete sie auf zum Zeichen5251; und wenn jemanden eine Schlange5175 biß5391, so sah5027 er7760 die eherne5178 Schlange5175 an und blieb leben2425.

9 And Moses4872 made6213 a serpent5175 of brass,5178 and put7760 it on a pole,5251 and it came1961 to pass, that if518 a serpent5175 had bitten5391 any man,376 when he beheld5027 the serpent5175 of brass,5178 he lived.2425

10 Und die Kinder1121 Israel3478 zogen5265 aus und lagerten sich2583 in Oboth88.

10 And the children1121 of Israel3478 set5265 forward,5265 and pitched2583 in Oboth.88

11 Und von Oboth88 zogen5265 sie aus und lagerten sich2583 in6440 Ijim, am Gebirge Abarim5863, in der Wüste4057 gegen Moab4124 über, gegen der Sonnen Aufgang.
|
11 And they journeyed5265 from Oboth,88 and pitched2583 at Ijeabarim,5863 in the wilderness4057 which834 is before5921 6440 Moab,4124 toward the sun rise.4217

12 Von dannen zogen5265 sie und lagerten sich2583 am Bach5158 Sared.
|
12 From there8033 they removed,5265 and pitched2583 in the valley5158 of Zared.2218
|
|
13 Von3318 dannen zogen5265 sie und lagerten sich2583 diesseit5676 am Arnon769, welcher ist in der Wüste4057 und herausreicht von der Grenze1366 der Amoriter567. Denn Arnon769 ist die Grenze1366 Moabs4124 zwischen Moab4124 und den Amoritern567.

13 From there8033 they removed,5265 and pitched2583 on5921 the other5676 side5676 of Arnon,769 which834 is in the wilderness4057 that comes3318 out of the coasts1366 of the Amorites:567 for Arnon769 is the border1366 of Moab,4124 between996 Moab4124 and the Amorites.567

14 Daher spricht man559 in dem Buch5612 von den Streiten4421 des HErrn3068: Das Vaheb2052 in Supha5492 und die Bäche5158 am Arnon769

15 und die Quelle793 der Bäche5158, welche reichet hinan zu der Stadt3427 Ar6144 und lenket sich5186 und ist die Grenze1366 Moabs4124.

15 And at the stream793 of the brooks5158 that goes5186 down5186 to the dwelling3427 of Ar,6144 and lies8172 on the border1366 of Moab.4124

16 Und von dannen zogen sie zum Brunnen876. Das ist der Brunnen875, davon der HErr3068 zu Mose4872 sagte559: Sammle622 das Volk5971, ich will ihnen Wasser4325 geben5414.

17 Da sang7891 Israel3478 dieses Lied7892, und sangen6030 umeinander über dem Brunnen875:

18 Das ist der Brunnen875, den die Fürsten8269 gegraben3738 haben2658; die Edlen5081 im Volk5971 haben ihn gegraben durch den Lehrer und ihre Stäbe. Und von dieser Wüste4057 zogen sie gen Mathana;

20 und von Bamoth1120 in6440 das Tal1516, das im Felde7704 Moab4124 liegt, zu dem hohen Berge7218 Pisga6449, der gegen die Wüste3452 siehet.

21 Und Israel3478 sandte Boten4397 zu Sihon5511, dem Könige4428 der Amoriter567, und ließ7971 ihm sagen559:

21 And Israel3478 sent7971 messengers4397 to Sihon5511 king4428 of the Amorites,567 saying,559

|
22 Laß mich durch dein Land776 ziehen3212; wir wollen nicht weichen5186 in5674 die4325 Acker7704 noch in die Weingärten3754, wollen auch des Brunnenwassers nicht trinken8354; die Landstraße4428 wollen wir ziehen, bis wir durch deine Grenze1366 kommen5674.

22 Let me pass5674 through your land:776 we will not turn5186 into the fields,7704 or into the vineyards;3754 we will not drink8354 of the waters4325 of the well:875 but we will go3212 along by the king's4428 high way,1870 until5704 we be past5674 your borders.1366

23 Aber Sihon5511 gestattete den Kindern Israel3478 den Zug nicht durch seine Grenze1366, sondern sammelte622 all sein Volk5971 und zog5674 aus3318 Israel3478 entgegen7125 in die Wüste4057; und als er5414 gen Jahza3096 kam935, stritt3898 er wider Israel3478.

23 And Sihon5511 would not suffer5414 Israel3478 to pass5674 through his border:1366 but Sihon5511 gathered622 all3605 his people5971 together, and went3318 out against Israel3478 into the wilderness:4057 and he came935 to Jahaz,3096 and fought3898 against Israel.3478

24 Israel3478 aber schlug5221 ihn mit der Schärfe6310 des Schwerts2719 und nahm sein3423 Land776 ein von Arnon769 an bis an den Jabbok2999 und bis an die Kinder1121 Ammon5983; denn die Grenzen1366 der Kinder1121 Ammon5983 waren fest5794.

24 And Israel3478 smote5221 him with the edge6310 of the sword,2719 and possessed3423 his land776 from Arnon769 to Jabbok,2999 even to the children1121 of Ammon:5983 for the border1366 of the children1121 of Ammon5983 was strong.5794

25 Also nahm3947 Israel3478 alle diese Städte5892 und3478 wohnete in allen3427 Städten5892 der Amoriter567, zu Hesbon2809 und allen ihren Töchtern1323.
|
25 And Israel3478 took3947 all3605 these428 cities:5892 and Israel3478 dwelled3427 in all3605 the cities5892 of the Amorites,567 in Heshbon,2809 and in all3605 the villages1323 thereof.

26 Denn Hesbon2809, die Stadt5892, war Sihons5511, des Königs4428 der Amoriter567, und er hatte3947 zuvor7223 mit dem Könige4428 der Moabiter4124 gestritten3898 und ihm3027 all sein Land776 angewonnen bis gen Arnon769.

26 For Heshbon2809 was the city5892 of Sihon5511 the king4428 of the Amorites,567 who1931 had fought3898 against the former7223 king4428 of Moab,4124 and taken3947 all3605 his land776 out of his hand,3027 even to Arnon.769

|
27 Daher sagt man559 im Sprichwort: Kommt935 gen Hesbon2809, daß man die Stadt5892 Sihon5511 baue1129 und4911 aufrichte3559;

27 Why5921 3651 they that speak in proverbs4911 say,559 Come935 into Heshbon,2809 let the city5892 of Sihon5511 be built1129 and prepared:3559

|
28 denn Feuer784 ist aus3318 Hesbon2809 gefahren, eine Flamme3852 von der Stadt7151 Sihon5511, die hat gefressen398 Ar6144 der Moabiter4124 und die Bürger der Höhe Arnon769.

28 For there is a fire784 gone3318 out of Heshbon,2809 a flame3852 from the city7151 of Sihon:5511 it has consumed398 Ar6144 of Moab,4124 and the lords1167 of the high1116 places of Arnon.769

29 Wehe188 dir, Moab4124, du Volk5971 Kamos3645 bist verloren6; man hat seine Söhne1121 in die Flucht6412 geschlagen und5414 seine Töchter1323 gefangen7622 geführt Sihon5511, dem Könige4428 der Amoriter567.

29 Woe188 to you, Moab!4124 you are undone,6 O people5971 of Chemosh:3645 he has given5414 his sons1121 that escaped,6412 and his daughters,1323 into captivity7628 to Sihon5511 king4428 of the Amorites.567

30 Ihre Herrlichkeit ist8074 zunichte worden6, von Hesbon2809 bis gen Dibon1769; sie ist verstöret bis gen Nophah5302, die da langet bis gen Medba.
|
30 We have shot3384 at them; Heshbon2809 is perished6 even to Dibon,1769 and we have laid them waste8074 even to Nophah,5302 which834 reaches to Medeba.4311

31 Also wohnete Israel3478 im Lande776 der Amoriter567.
|
31 Thus Israel3478 dwelled3427 in the land776 of the Amorites.567

|
32 Und3423 Mose4872 sandte7971 aus Kundschafter7270 gen Jaeser; und gewannen3920 ihre Töchter1323 und nahmen3423 die Amoriter567 ein, die drinnen waren;

32 And Moses4872 sent7971 to spy7270 out Jaazer,3270 and they took3920 the villages1323 thereof, and drove3423 out the Amorites567 that were there.8033

|
33 und wandten sich6437 und zogen hinauf des Weges1870 zu Basan1316. Da zog5927 aus3318 ihnen entgegen7125 Og5747, der König4428 zu Basan1316, mit all seinem Volk5971, zu streiten4421 in Edrei154.
|
33 And they turned6437 and went5927 up by the way1870 of Bashan:1316 and Og5747 the king4428 of Bashan1316 went3318 out against7125 them, he, and all3605 his people,5971 to the battle4421 at Edrei.154

34 Und der HErr3068 sprach559 zu Mose4872: Fürchte3372 dich3427 nicht vor ihm; denn ich habe6213 ihn in deine Hand3027 gegeben5414 mit Land776 und Leuten5971, und sollst mit ihm tun, wie du mit Sihon5511, dem Könige4428 der Amoriter567, getan6213 hast, der zu Hesbon2809 wohnete.

34 And the LORD3068 said559 to Moses,4872 Fear3372 him not: for I have delivered5414 him into your hand,3027 and all3605 his people,5971 and his land;776 and you shall do6213 to him as you did6213 to Sihon5511 king4428 of the Amorites,567 which834 dwelled3427 at Heshbon.2809

35 Und sie schlugen5221 ihn und seine Söhne1121 und all sein3423 Volk5971, bis daß1115 keiner8300 überblieb; und nahmen das Land776 ein.

35 So they smote5221 him, and his sons,1121 and all3605 his people,5971 until5704 there was none1115 left7604 him alive:8300 and they possessed3423 his land.776
